For most leather furniture, use a mild solution, such as Neutragena or Ivory liquid soap, with lukewarm water on a gentle clothe or sponge. Always clean a small hidden sample area first. After cleaning, rinse and dry naturally. For natural leather, blot excess liquid immediately with a clean absorbent clothe. Stains will disappear eventually.
The leather will initially repel most liquids, but, if left to stand over an extended period of time, they will be absorbed. That is why it is a good idea to mop up spills immediately. But even if the spill is absorbed, it will dissipate in time, just as human skin will absorb and eventually diffuse stains.
If necessary, except on natural leathers, use clean lukewarm distilled water. If you use water, clean the entire area in which the spill occurred, such as an entire cushion or arm. Gently wipe the spill with a clean towel and allow it to air dry. Do not use any type of heat to dry, such as a hair blower. For natural leather, blot excess liquid immediately with a clean absorbent clothe. If a stain appears it will disappear eventually.
